Ajrah is the pretty birdie that sits on top of the couch and preens until you give him your toast because he is so pretty. <3 Meanwhile, Vidu is the sly birdie that sits on your shoulder and steals the toast out of your hand when your raise it to your mouth. XD
I both like and hate the pacing of these pages. It's meant to be read reading that arc of text to the left all the way to the bottom where Skittlez' bubble is. Anya tips back in his chair, not really hearing, surrounded by everything on his mind. And then he's startled and looks over at Skittlez as audio memory plays back that she said something.
But I don't really know if it's going to be read like that. T_T
Anya is too big for every day objects like chairs and tables. XD He always sits sideways so he can stick his legs out and not bump his knees on the bottom of the table.
Fun fact: water has opposite effects on Anya and Skittlez' hair. Anya's hair is always pretty wild (wildest now after that drastic towel dry), but when it gets drenched, he looks kind of bedraggled and flat (up until now, you've only seen him very wet). But Skittlez' hair gets wavy and curly when wet and dries kind of strait and flat.
Just another instance of too much thought into one little comic ..........
Speaking of thought, this page is uhm. A kind of big reveal? To answer Jazeki's earlier question, TG has had an omnicient narrator since this page here. I was nerding really hard on that page since I knew what was coming ... Anya's retelling of Vidu's back story, which is what TG is mainly about. It is only Anya's thoughts that appear in this captiony way. (and some of the fish's dialog that i should go back and change...)
Which might answer a few questions that come up a lot in chapter 2.
Is Anya a completely random nurse Skittlez runs in to?
He was kind of just standing there on the side walk .... anyone else would have been running to get out of the pouring rain.
Ah. I feel like I could have done all of chapter 2 much better. Like no one is really going to get how important this page spread is.
<_< .......... the spider on 54 and 65 isn't random, either. She has a name, a story, a reason for being here... more on her and the Overworld and the witch king of spiders and the pearl the fish dropped later I guess. /sideline epicery. I'll just be over here, hiding under this rock, dreaming up stories you might never see.
If the only thing you take away from this page is "oh so Anya knows stuff and is probably a creepy stalker" then good. Mission accomplished. ... T_T;;;;
I swear though ........ *fists clenched, standing under a waterfall, gazing up at the sky* ........ this story when complete will actually be kind of awesome in how it fits together.
TWC: I angsted over the text flow on this spread and deleted a very pretty drawing of Vidu in order t simplify things.

yes, I read it down and then over - the way you meant it to be. I came across this comic yesterday and am really happy that it updated so soon. what's your usual schedule like? I love your art and am debating about buying a copy of the comic for my sister for Christmas... I'll be stalking your for sale items now.
