If you missed it, here's the funny Vidu drawing from last week when I didn't have a scanner to scan updates.

TWC: a terrible comic. XD Please don't be offended. I recently worked in a frame shop where I came across a catalog of super duper fantasized Jesus art. Jesus with sheep. Jesus with children. Jesus on a bridge. Jesus looking at water. Jesus with a cup. 8( It was the Thomas Kinkade of Jesus art. Am I the only person who finds these pictures gay?! They make me want to draw my own rendition of Jesus + disciples where they're all scrubby and dirty and they look like working class citizens from 2000 years ago. But I guess having Jesus covered in tree splinters (you know, his profession for the first 30 years of his life) would totally not go well on an old lady's wall. .... and Peter would be perpetually attacked by cats because he smells of rotten fish no matter how much he tries to bathe. XD

Anyway, the two random characters from the comic on TWC are future Door characters. <3 The gay one is Nemo, the very not gay one with nerd glasses is Aleci. They work in Angelique's coffee shop. While not at work, Aleci avoids Nemo like the plague, but somehow Nemo always finds him. O.O They sort of become best friends in a really weird IWISHYOUWOULDSTOPTOUCHINGME way.

/////////////////////////

Oh. yeah. TG page. yay! I got my scanner! It's an Epson Perfection V30 and I think it's pretty nice so far! Haven't tried to scan anything with a lot of color yet. But it seems nicer than my last scanner! 8D My last scanner was 9 years old...

Enjoy the text. ><

It could have been spaced out, but hell. It was fastest and easiest to make a big illustrated novel spread. I don't usually go for the fast and easy. But I will here. I want to hurry and get to what's next. <3

"Titan" might be changed later... hm. It's the closest word I can find for what the dragon and others are. Both in definition and in concept. A titan is defined as being a powerful behemoth. Raw energy and strength, I guess. Conceptually, having titans overthrown in Greek myth by lesser, squabbling idiots is accurate enough for Door.

I guess I'm at war with the term because it is a decidedly greek term being applied to not greek myths.

Also, still trying to get the setting right. I need to buy a landscape painting book... the setting is practically an additional character to me. >< Towering black cliffs footed by desert sand with the only light source being a fallen star... IT COULD BE SO PRETTY IF I COULD DRAW IT RIGHT.

Sorry, jeez, my author comments are always so huge. x__X

It took me a while to get this scene. At first, I thought it was a view of your average dawn. The wisps of clouds, the warming colors as your reach the point of brilliance, all the stuff that makes such scenes powerful and beautiful.

Then I realized that the light is just Vidu, and then I realize this is just a view of the -first- dawn.

Wonderful work.

@guywiththehat

>3< yes.... I confirm your suspicions. Though, currently Vidu's light isn't much more than an extremely bright start or maybe a full moon.

But indeed. This chapter is about the very first dawn. >< But the sun finally rises at the very end of this chapter. >< >< >< *spoiler spoiler spoiler*

Oh Nemo, you devilish boy. Yet, I can't blame you. Seth would totally hit on him too if he didn't know any better. >_>

Umm... the wolf asks 'are you a titan?' but the response is really confusing. I don't know whether it's Vidu replying or not when it says 'probably. No parent could have birthed you.' Because in that case, shouldn't the question have been 'am I a titan?'Otherwise why would he start talking about her and not himself? So I found that really really confusing. Can you clarify?

@crave

I tried to edit the text to make it clearer. Reread and see if you are helped.

There are three characters involved in this text. The text is about Vidu and the wolf, but the story is being told by a first person omnipotent narrator.

On this page, all text in quotations is being spoken by Vidu.

The "Are you a titan" part of the text is Vidu rephrasing the wolf's question from page 87, but the wolf didn't know that's what he was trying to ask.

Better?

Wow. Just read all of TG in one sitting and I am awed. I can't wait to read the rest! I should have bought the comics in print at A-kon! There's always next year though. Until then, I shall remain an avid reader!

that helped a lot :) I see that it's Vidu asking asking his question "are you a titan..." on behalf of the wolf. Then the narrator comments on the question, and then Vidu continues to answer it himself to the best of his abilities. I think that's what needed to be clearer, the break kind of made it look like the wolf or the narrator was speaking first? Anyways, thank you very much for helping with that misunderstanding. I love your comic, the artwork is very moving.

Sorry I didn't state this on DA but are you kidding? The landscape is beautiful, it fits so nicely with the watercolor work presented so far.

That's even clearer than before! Perfect, in fact. I'm glad. And the latest update is lovely too... Vidu is so shiny with the sun inside him. A purpose greater than bringing light to a world? I wonder what that could be. Also, your artwork is beautiful, spectacular, sublime. I love it.
